Local muralists help clean up DC
Through public art and collaboration with Ward 8 Woods and local muralists, we are inspiring neighborhood pride and cleaner communities across D.C.
We partnered with Ward 8 Woods, alongside the D.C. Department of Energy & Environment, to facilitate a public art initiative promoting cleaner, healthier neighborhoods across Washington, D.C.
We connected local artists with the program’s environmental mission, using bold artwork and neighborhood-specific messages to encourage residents to take pride in their communities and keep shared spaces clean.
The initiative features original work by muralists Asad Ultra Walker, Ernesto Zelaya, Luis Del Valle, and Darius Hill. Their designs celebrate D.C. landmarks, residents, music, nature, and neighborhood culture while sharing messages such as “Spread Love, Not Trash,” “Keep Trinidad Clean,” and “Don’t Trash Deanwood.”
We believe art can educate, inspire action, and strengthen communities. We are proud to have facilitated a collaboration that celebrates local artists while encouraging everyone to help keep D.C. clean, beautiful, and cared for.
