Meet the 2025 Grand Slam Winners

On April 5th youth poets from around the DMV convened at the Brookland Busboys & Poets for a chance to win a spot on the DMV Youth Poetry Slam Team.

We are happy announce that this years finalists are as follows (from left to right):

Precious, Siyyon and Joy will be joining Saniya, Lemonade, and Elizabeth to make up the 2025 DMV Youth Poetry Slam Team.

As part of their new appointment they will all embark on an intensive fourteen week training as they craft and practice solo and group pieces for the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Festival to be held this July in Madison, Wisconsin.
